INDIANAPOLIS – At this time last season, few people knew who Malik Hooker was. Fast forward to today and everyone in the NFL is very aware of the Ohio State safety and likely top-half of the first-round pick.
Hooker will not work out as part of the NFL Combine after having to undergo surgery for a torn labrum and hernia that were both results of Ohio State's 2016 season. That won't slow Hooker down however when he hears his name called at the upcoming draft. The prognosis is good that Hooker will be a full-go by the time that training camps are underway.
"My medical checks are going really well," Hooker said. "I had surgery January 16th, I’m recovering a lot faster than they thought. I’m looking forward to coming back around rookie camp. There’s nothing else I could really say about it as of right now, it’s just a day to day thing."
Hooker clued everyone in to when the injuries happened, happening in the Michigan game.
