Riep rolls with the Buckeyes

CINCINNATI - Ohio State's recruiting momentum continued on Saturday afternoon with another big pick-up as the Buckeyes landed a pledge from in-state defensive back Amir Riep. The 6-foot, 180-pound prospect out of Cincinnati Colerain chose the long favored Buckeyes over Michigan State and Alabama, becoming the second Rivals250 commit in the 2017 class in as many days.

Ohio State had appeared to take a stranglehold on Riep's recruitment in recent weeks after multiple camp visits, including Friday Night Lights yesterday. Riep chose Saturday to make his commitment as it is his 18th birthday.

Riep is commitment No. 16 for Ohio State in its top ranked 2017 class and adds to what is becoming one of the best defensive back hauls in program history.
