COLUMBUS, Ohio –– Perhaps the lone underclassman defensive back to see enough time on the field to be identified as a bonafide future secondary stud for the Buckeyes in 2020, sophomore Lathan Ransom continues to leave lasting impressions on coaches and teammates alike with his rapid development on the Ohio State defense this spring.
Most Buckeyes are quick to heap praise upon their teammates when given the opportunity to do so, but when Ohio State defensive backs Josh Proctor and Marcus Williamson were asked about the rising talent Thursday, their responses went above and beyond the generic answers one might expect.
“He’s actually developing pretty fast. He’s going to be a guy I feel like a lot of people are gonna hear about next year,” Proctor said. “After last year, yeah he played a bit at the end of the season, but I feel like that kind of boosted his confidence. He came into this offseason improving stuff, and with that chip on his shoulder, wanting to be better.”
