Quiet Giant Jones is signed

Brooklyn (NY) Erasmus Hall product Matthew Jones comes from a loud, busy city. But his quiet demeanor is almost better suited for the Midwest. So with that in mind, it probably shouldn't have been a surprise that the big-time offensive lineman was drawn to this part of the country.

The quiet giant inked his letter of intent with Ohio State on Wednesday morning and the Under Armour All-American will be enrolling early at Ohio State.

FLASHBACK: Jones enjoying big senior season

Jones gave the Buckeyes his verbal commitment back in the summer. Ohio State always seemed to be the front-runner for the four-star prospect. After all, the Buckeyes had signed friends and former E-Hall stars Curtis Samuel and Jahsen Wint in recent classes and were one of just a few schools that were really able to connect with the soft spoken Jones from a very early stage of his recruitment.

Jones did his research, however. The Rivals250 product considered places like Penn State, Rutgers, Alabama, and others before giving the Buckeyes his pledge over the summer. Jones starred at both offensive and defensive tackle during his stint at Erasmus Hall but is slotted to play on the interior of the offensive line, perhaps center, in Columbus.
