There has been no shortage of talent to come out of Canton (Ohio) McKinley High school over the years. In the 2019 class, offensive tackle Charles Turner looks like he will continue that tradition. The 6-foot-5, 255-pound prospect was invited to Ohio State's spring game over the weekend, his first visit to the in-state program.

"I was very impressed with Ohio State," said Turner. "I had lots of fun and the coaching staff was great. I met Greg Studrawa and I met Ed Terwilliger (recruiting assistant)."

Turner's first impression of Studrawa was a good one as he was able to watch him work with the line before the spring game on Saturday.

"I think he's great guy and real genuine," Turner explained. "I think he's a very hard-nosed football coach and I think that's how I need to be coached at the next level to be a great player."

Growing up in Ohio, having the opportunity to be recruited by Ohio State is not something that Turner takes lightly.

"It means the world to me knowing that one of my life long dreams could possibly come true, playing for the Buckeyes," he said.

Turner's recruitment is starting to expand beyond the borders of Ohio, however. Assistants from half a dozen college programs have stopped by McKinley this week as the Spring Evaluation Period opened. All of them inquired about Turner.

"Minnesota, Michigan State, Pitt, Purdue, and Kent State all came by the school (Tuesday)," Turner said. "Ohio University came by Monday."

Turner does not currently have any future visits planned.
