St. Clairsville (Ohio) historically has not been a major producer of Division I talent, but that has changed in recent years and the program has another prospect to watch in the 2020 class in offensive lineman Ja'von Lyons. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound prospect was a freshman standout this past fall and is starting to hear from a couple of Big Ten programs.

Lyons recently worked out for Ohio State at one of the Buckeyes' one-day elite camps.

"I felt like I had a very good camp," said Lyons. "I went through the drills and worked hard. There were a few coaches here that told me that I did a great job."

Ohio State has always been a school of high interest for Lyons growing up within the state's borders.

"Ohio State is a top notch school, one of the best in the nation," he said. "Growing up in Ohio, you learn about the Buckeyes from a very young age."

Lyons has also caught the attention of another prominent Big Ten program this summer.

"Wisconsin has been showing me interest, I camped there (a couple weeks ago) and I'm going to Cincinnati on July 21st," he explained. "The Wisconsin camp was a great camp and good atmosphere. They told me I did a great job and they want me to come back."

Lyons has the build of a future interior lineman, either on offense or defense. Right now he is most comfortable on offense, but has the body to be an intriguing defensive tackle prospect.

"I started on the offensive line last year as a freshman so I have more experience there," he explained. "If there was ever a time that anyone wanted to work me out at defensive line, I'd gladly try that out."

Lyons is a multi-sport standout at St. Clairsville where he also plays basketball.
