Ohio State had nearly perfect recruiting results at the wide receiver position in the 2018 class, landing long time out-of-state target Kamryn Babb and the top in-state target in Blue Smith. Smith made it official with Ohio State on Wednesday, signing his letter of intent. He will enroll this summer in Columbus.

The Buckeyes are getting one of the more prolific wide receivers in Ohio over the past several years. Smith caught more than 150 passes at powerhouse Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne over the past three seasons, including a staggering 35 touchdowns. His senior season he caught 56 balls for 885 yards and nine scores to cap off one of the best individual careers in the history of the storied program.

FLASHBACK: Blue goes Scarlet

While Ohio State was the considered the favorite throughout, Blue did entertain the idea of taking his talents to the SEC, most notably with either Alabama or Kentucky. But it was Kentucky that put up the biggest fight for the big-bodied Rivals100 wide receiver.

Ohio State made the big push over the summer, however, and a June meeting with Blue, his father, and Buckeye head coach Urban Meyer was the tipping point. Now one of Ohio's most productive receivers is hoping to carry that over to Columbus at his dream school.
