COLUMBUS, Ohio - Saturday's spring scrimmage was a good chance for people to see where the 2011 Buckeye team stands but it was also costly on an injury front. Melvin Fellows, Nate Ebner and Jamie Wood all left the scrimmage for various injuries and cut into a thin enough roster.

Sources told BuckeyeGrove.com that Wood's injury was a separated left shoulder but that no further news had been disclosed, including the severity of the injury. Wood, who will be a third year sophomore, was having a great scrimmage before the injury.
The hard-hitting made three tackles in the first five plays he participated in. The 6-foot-1, 198-pound safety drew the attention from the small crowd when he popped his helmet off with a big hit on Jaamal Berry during a nine yard run for the Ohio State running back.
Wood will likely shut it down for the rest of the spring with only six days of spring practice remaining. Wood should be allowed to continue working out, but with severe limitations to any upper body work until more is known about his injury.
