Ohio State was able to dip into Virginia to nab Rivals100 linebacker K'Vaughan Pope out of Dinwiddie High School. But Pope won't be the last Division I prospect at the school. Class of 2020 defensive back/wide receiver Jasiah Williams has a chance to be a highly recruited prospect moving forward.

Williams turned in a big performance in Dinwiddie's season opener this past Friday, returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown and recording an interception in the 70-0 blowout.

"I actually bobbled the catch," recalled Williams after the game, when asked about his season opening kick return. "When I picked it up, I just told myself, 'just run, just go'. I ran straight up the middle and all of a sudden I looked to my left and to my right and there was nobody there. I knew it was over with. That's what I was telling myself earlier (Friday), that I was going to start the season with a kick return for a touchdown."

The interception was another big play later in the first half as it kept the momentum rolling in Dinwiddie's direction, allowing the Generals to rest their starters in the second half.

"He ran somewhat of a whip route like three plays in a row," he said. "The first time he actually got me with it. I just said to myself, 'he's about to run it again' so I sat on it and I read the quarterback's eyes. I didn't catch it as clean as I wanted to, I was hoping to take it back (for a touchdown), but I got the offense back on the field."

Williams played a lot as a freshman last year, but this will be the year that he puts himself on the recruiting map after attending two college camps over the summer.

"I did go to a couple camps," he explained. "I went James Madison and N.C. State this year. I'm definitely looking forward to getting out there more (next summer)."

Ohio State is one program that is an early stand out for the two-way speedster.

"I watch everybody and I've never really had a favorite," he explained. "But I'm pretty sure that Ohio State is going to be my favorite since my guy number 81 is going there."

Number 81 is of course Buckeye commit K'Vaughan Pope. Williams visited Ohio State with Pope back in April.

"I watched their games and when 81 went on his visit (in the spring), he actually took me and his brother," he said. "Ohio State, it's beautiful there and they take care of their kids. It's not strictly football there, they are more focused on after football and that's why I'm glad that (Pope) made the decision to go there."

But the on-field product was also impressive to Williams, especially the intensity at practice.

"Probably the competition (stood out the most)," he recalled. "Watching practice, they compete in everything. From the beginning of practice to the breakdown at the end of practice, everything is a competition."
