Washington ties team-high mark with 9 points in NBA Combine scrimmage
Duane Washington passed the first test in his bid to get drafted to the NBA this week, earning an invitation to the draft combine after impressing scouts in back-to-back performances at the G League Elite Camp in Chicago.
However, the Buckeye guard needs to turn more heads this week if he hopes to continue his ascent up draft boards, and he got his first real chance to do so Thursday with an appearance in a five-on-five scrimmage at the combine.
In a 76-57 loss, Washington’s nine points were tied for the most on his squad, shooting 4-for-9 from the field and 1-for-4 from 3-point range. Washington logged more than 20 minutes and added a team-high four assists, although he finished with a +/- of -14 as his team suffered a second-half collapse.
