Ohio State's recruiting activity in the talent-rich state of Texas likely won't be dying down anytime soon. The Buckeyes have put out an early offer to class of 2020 Houston (Texas) North Shore star running back Zachary Evans.

The big-time prospect has pulled in approximately 20 offers already from some of the nation's top programs.

"It has been a blessing," said Evans. "Being a younger guy and getting all of these offers, it has been amazing."

Evans has not even begun to narrow his list down as he waits to see what else might come his way over the next several months. But Ohio State is a definite school of interest.

"Ohio State, they had Ezekiel Elliott and they've just had plenty of ballers up there," he said. "I'm most definitely interested and I want to make a visit soon."

Evans has struck up a friendship with class of 2018 Ohio State offensive line signee Max Wray as well as his younger brother, 2020 Ohio State offensive line target Jake Wray. Ultimately each kid must make his own recruiting decisions, but having made some of the same college visits, Evans and the Wray brothers do lean on each other for information and support through the process.

"Yeah we are good friends," Evans acknowledged. "We just go on visits to a bunch of different schools and then we like to talk about things afterwards."

As a sophomore, Evans rushed for more than 1,400 yards and 27 touchdowns.
