COLUMBUS, Ohio – Spring practice is not only a chance for college football teams to try and knock some of the rust off its players and incorporate new players into roles vacated by departing stars, but it is also a chance for new staffs to come together and start working on chemistry in many cases.

The Buckeyes have three new coaches to incorporate into the system this offseason with Billy Davis, Kevin Wilson and Ryan Day all joining the staff. It is the most new faces Urban Meyer has welcomed to the staff since he put together his first staff in 2012 when named head coach of the Buckeyes.

Wilson comes in with half a dozen years of head coaching experience, Day has worked both at the college and NFL level while Davis spent the entirety of his career at the NFL level with three stops as an NFL coordinator.

"Everybody has been at some great places and they have great ideas," Meyer said on Tuesday after the team finished up its daily practice. "When you hire a coaching staff at Bowling Green, and you have 25-year-old bobbleheads and you say, 'Do it this way' and they say, 'Yes coach' and that is easy. But you hire a 26-year veteran that has done it his way for a while and it is all good."
