Snead focused on Buckeyes, junior season

Singing Day 2018 is in the distant future, but things between Ohio State and running back commit Brian Snead, a Buckeye commit, are on solid footing. His interest in other schools seems limited and he’s not worried about visiting other campuses.

These days, the Rivals250 junior would rather just talk about the reasons he chose Ohio State.

“It was one of the best offers I have,” Snead said on Friday. “When I went on the visit, it felt like home. I was vibing with everyone. They told me great things, and I know they can really help my future.”

The distance from home matters not to Snead, who says he actually prefers to head north for college. His parents, on the other hand, are less thrilled about the massive relocation.

“My parents like Ohio State,” Snead said. “They don’t like how I’m going far away, but they like the school and all that.”

A trip to Ohio State is the only visit Snead plans to take this fall. He reserves the right to add destinations to his schedule, but he’s focused on the Buckeyes for now.

Snead is ranked as the No. 6 running back and the No. 128 overall prospect in the class of 2018. He attends Seffner (Fla.) Armwood High School.

IN HIS WORDS: “I haven’t been hearing from that many coaches,” Snead said. “Florida and Alabama still talk to me, but really nobody else.”

RIVALS REACTION: Coaches at Snead’s school says the chances of a change of heart are low to non-existent. According to one assistant, Snead has always wanted to play for Ohio State and is unlikely to so much as seriously consider another school. Still, stranger things have happened in recruiting. For now, Snead has to be seen as an extremely solid Buckeyes commit, but with more than a full year until Signing Day 2018, a million things could change.
