Simpson's first visit to Ohio State a major succes

Ohio State saw some big-time underclassmen come through campus on Saturday as the Buckeyes defeated Nebraska 62-3. Among the out-of-state contingent was St. Simon's Island (Ga.) Frederica Academy cornerback Jaylin Simpson. The 5-foot-11, 155-pound prospect holds an early from the Buckeyes and was getting his first look at Ohio State.

"I had a lot of fun," said Simpson. "Best visit so far."

Ohio State was the first program to offer Simpson a scholarship, doing so back in August. Since that time, the two parties have built up a good relationship and Simpson was happy to see that those same coaches seem to have strong relationships with their players.

"I will say the relationship that the players have with the coaches (stood out the most)," he said.

Simpson made the trip with teammate and fellow class of 2019 star Jashawn Sheffield. Both prospects listed the visit right at the top of all visits they have made.

"(The OSU coaches) just talked about me and Jashawn being the first 2019 commits," he said. "I'm going to wait a little longer to figure everything out though."

Simpson left Columbus feeling good about his trip and where Ohio State stands moving forward.

"It's a great place," he added. "I could see myself going to school there."

Simpson's other offers are Florida, LSU, Miami (Fla.), North Carolina, and Tennessee.
