Antjuan Simmons shocked a lot of people when he pledged to the Buckeyes but everything has returned to normal for the 4-star linebacker commit that can look out of his high school window and see where his new biggest rival calls home.

OBETZ, Ohio – The trip down US-23 will be a familiar one for Ann Arbor (Mich.) linebacker and Ohio State commit Antjuan Simmons. The big-time linebacker shocked many when he committed to Ohio State a couple of months ago and there has been no looking back for the 4-star defender.

He made his way down to take part in the Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour on Saturday morning despite some cold and snowy conditions. But like many of the players from the region, Simmons said that he was not going to let a little bad weather get him down and almost looked at it like a badge of honor being able to compete in any weather conditions.

Has life been tough since his Ohio State commitment, especially with the proximity of his school from Michigan Stadium and a heavy dose of Michigan and Michigan State fans getting in his ear?

"No, not at all. All of the students and the teachers, everybody, they are really happy for me," Simmons said. "I get a few comments here and there like, 'Man, you should have gone to Michigan' or 'You should have gone to (Michigan) State', but everyone is happy for me."

There is a long way to go until National Signing Day 2016, are schools giving up on him or is Simmons still getting a good amount of pressure from other schools to gauge just how serious he is about his Buckeye pledge?

"Some schools still contact me but it is not many," Simmons added. "It is nowhere as many as it was before I made my announcement."

Many Ohio State recruiting fans were shocked when Simmons picked the Buckeyes but many of his recruiting classmates were not as they had put in some hard work on swaying the talented player.

Everyone expects quarterback Danny Clark to be in the middle of recruiting but he was not the only guy to get into Simmons' ear and tell him that Ohio State is the place to be.

"Brendon (White) is my guy and he did a really good job at recruiting me," Simmons added. "My first trip that I came up here was the Maryland game and that is where I met him and met Todd (Sibley) at the (Michigan) State game and I met Danny at the State game, and those guys were just recruiting me and letting me know they wanted me to be a Buckeye."

Simmons is just the latest in a line of players to leave the state of Michigan and head south to the state of Ohio, and that line has included some highly rated players. Simmons is very tight with an Ohio State freshman who made the same decision last year and is now and early enrollee and turning a lot of heads with his play.

"I am really good friends with Michael Jordan, I know Mikey, I trained with him," Simmons added. "Those guys, they are really good guys to be around."

Simmons has noticed that Jordan has worked with the first team some during spring practice and hopes that he can have that kind of immediate impact when he enrolls at Ohio State after his senior year. But for now he is enjoying his time in high school and is looking forward to his senior season.
