It was a parade of five-star commitments for Ohio State in the 2017 recruiting class as the Buckeyes signed top talent from all over the nation. But one prospect provided some deja vu for Buckeye Nation in Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas star Trevon Grimes.

Grimes gave Ohio State an STA five-star standout in back-to-back years, after pulling defensive lineman Nick Bosa out of the South Florida power just a year prior. Much like Bosa, Grimes was a heavy Ohio State lean the whole way and gave Buckeye fans something to get excited about with a summer pledge.

The 6-foot-4, 196-pound prospect committed with an infamous video with former Ohio State pledge and Nebraska signee Tyjon Lindsey where the two were playing a dodge ball game against each other.

While only Grimes would stick, he gives the Buckeyes a much needed deep-threat in its wide receiver room. A track star with three state championships in the hurdles before giving up track to focus strictly on football, Grimes not only fills the deep-threat role, his 6-foot-4 frame gives the Buckeyes another big body in the receiver room.

On Wednesday morning, Grimes made everything official. Some South Florida recruitments have been wild rides over the years, but there were never any second thoughts in Grimes' head about sticking with Ohio State.

"I'm blessed and excited to get my college journey started," Grimes told BuckeyeGrove.com. "What kept me committed to Ohio State is the coaches and family-like environment, just feeling at home."

Grimes is rated the No. 4 receiver in the class by Rivals.com, the No. 8 prospect in Florida and the No. 33 overall prospect regardless of position.
