Sibley out to prove he is constantly getting better

Todd Sibley knows that his life changed when he committed to the Buckeyes almost a year ago and now carries himself a little differently. We caught up with him before the start of the Rivals Camp stop in Columbus for a quick update.

OBETZ, Ohio – Class of 2017 running back Todd Sibley is no stranger to Columbus since committing to the Buckeyes almost a year ago.

The weather conditions on Saturday at the Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour stop in Columbus were less than ideal for many players but Sibley recognizes that there are few things that can be controlled in football and the weather is not one of them.

"I think if you can play football in this weather then you can play anywhere around the country," Sibley said. "It gets the coldest around here and it gets the hottest around here so we have been through it all down here playing in Ohio."

Sibley is no stranger to the camp circuits and builds on each performance with his next one. During Akron Hoban's state championship run in 2015, Sibley built on each performance from week-to-week and he went into the camp hoping to show that he is a better back than last year and far from reaching the ceiling to his potential.

"I want to show that I can do everything," Sibley said. "That I can catch the ball, that I can run routes, that I can show off my quickness and speed and footwork and get down to (the Five Star Challenge)."

The Ohio State pledge has taken his pledge very seriously and knows that his life as an Ohio State commit is very different than what his life would be only as a target. He knows that he is under extra scrutiny ever since accepting his verbal offer and does not want to do anything to jeopardize his standing or put his future school in a bad light by tripping up off the field.

"I think as a commit you have to carry yourself a little bit different," Sibley said. "Not only are you representing yourself but you represent Ohio State because you are committed to them, so you have to carry yourself a little different. You have to watch what you say, watch what you do. It is a huge responsibility but at the end of the day it is worth it. Being committed to one of the best schools in the country."

We caught up with Sibley right before camp started and had to cut our interview a little short due to that but check out what else he had to say in this exclusive interview from Saturday at the RCS: Columbus stop.
