Ohio State alumni basketball team Carmen’s Crew will enter this summer’s edition of The Basketball Tournament as a No. 1 seed once again, but last year’s early exit proved that a top seed does not grant any team immunity once play begins.
Carmen’s Crew has plenty of stiff competition in its portion of the 64-team tournament bracket –– which will see the group play games on Ohio State campus from July 23-27 –– and for those of you looking to gauge the team’s chances at a deep run in TBT, we’re breaking down Carmen’s Crew’s potential opponents this summer.
First though, a quick rundown of the Carmen’s Crew roster is in order.
Carmen's Crew roster breakdown
Former two-time All-American Buckeye center and NBA veteran Jared Sullinger returns as head coach, and former national player of the year and No. 2 overall NBA draft pick Evan Turner will be back as the group’s general manager.
Point guard Aaron Craft and familiar three-headed monster of wing scorers David Lighty, William Buford and Jon Diebler will all be back as well. Carmen’s Crew has also gotten younger with the new additions of recent Buckeye alums Kaleb Wesson at center and Keyshawn Woods at guard, and Shannon Scott returns to the fold as well after a few years off from TBT.
Rounding out the roster are former Buckeyes Lenzelle Smith Jr. and Evan Ravenel, with Carmen's Crew veteran Jeff Gibbs returning for the group as well.
Now that you’re all caught up on the outlook of the Buckeye alumni team’s on-court personnel, let’s take a look at the opposing teams that Carmen’s Crew may go up against beginning next month.
