For several months now, Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek wide receiver Demarre Kitt has been among the top targets in the 2014 class for the Ohio State Buckeyes. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound prospect had originally intended to take his time with the recruiting process but after a few weeks of hinting that he might be starting to speed things up, the Rivals100 product has set an announcement date of June 10th.
Kitt posted the date on his twitter account and later confirmed his intentions with BuckeyeGrove.com via text message. Kitt added that he would likely make the announcement at a ceremony held at his high school.
As for why Kitt has decided to speed up the process more than originally anticipated, he added, "I'm committing early so I can focus on my senior year, winning another (state championship) ring, and help build my class."
Kitt confirmed three finalists via text message. Those finalists are (in alphabetical order) Clemson, Ohio State, and Tennessee.
Kitt is rated the No. 67 overall player in the nation by Rivals.com and the No. 6 wide receiver in the 2014 recruiting class. Though Kitt will be choosing from three schools, his offer list is more than 25 schools long and includes the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Texas, USC, and West Virginia.
Kitt has made two unofficial visits to Ohio State in recent weeks, no further trips to Columbus are planned between now and his announcement date.
