Rivals100 OL target Luke Montgomery discusses return visit to Ohio State

A few familiar faces hit the road and made an appearance at Ohio State’s camp on Tuesday.

After taking visits to the school earlier this month, Florida-based prospects Carnell Tate and Derrick LeBlanc were back on campus yesterday. Ryan Day’s staff also welcomed back Rivals100 target Luke Montgomery, who made the relatively short trip to Columbus on June 1.

This time around, however, Montgomery was able to show the coaches why he’s one of the more sought-after recruits in the 2023 class.

“It was awesome,” Montgomery told BuckeyeGrove’s Kevin Noon and others following Tuesday’s camp session. “It’s been a year. Obviously, having that opportunity is awesome. [I’ve been looking forward to it] for a long time. Just being able to camp and play against the best and compete against the best is awesome.”

Montgomery is listed as a defensive lineman on his profile, and schools such as Michigan State, Notre Dame and Virginia Tech are recruiting him on that side of the ball. If he ends up staying close to home and picking the Buckeyes, however, then he would play along the offensive line.

During his time with Greg Studrawa on Tuesday, the 6-foot-5, 260-pounder says he gained a lot of knowledge while learning under his tutelage.
