Relationships lead Bosa to Ohio State

The saying that recruiting is about comfort and relationships never rang more true than with five-star defensive end Nick Bosa. Bosa signed his paperwork with Ohio State on Wednesday and will come to Columbus with sky high expectations.

For two years, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas defensive end Nick Bosa sat at the top of the Ohio State wish list in the 2016 class. The younger brother of star defensive end Joey Bosa and a five-star prospect to boot, he was simply a must have for the Buckeyes.

While Bosa took his time with the process, committing just before his senior season started, there was always the feeling that he would end up at Ohio State. He took a peak at in-state programs Florida, and Florida State, but made the choice that most saw coming from the very early stages by rolling with Ohio State.

For the nation's No. 2 rated defensive end prospect, it was never much of a decision.

"It was an easy process because I fell in love with Ohio State and the coaches," Bosa recalled. "I'm excited to finally make it official."

The relationship that Bosa and his older brother have forged with Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson was a driving force in the recruitment.

Bosa is coming off major knee surgery but according to his father, John Bosa, things are going 'awesome' on that front right now and he is ahead of schedule. Ultimately, Bosa's knee should be stronger than ever once he completes rehab and with today's medical advances, he should be ready for fall camp.

If that ultimately holds true, it is going to be virtually impossible to keep Bosa off the field this fall, even with the depth at defensive end. This is a special talent who can rush the passer but also holds up extremely well at the point of attack.

Sound familiar?

It should, his game isn't much different from his older brother's and there are people in South Florida that feel the younger Bosa is a little more consistent and polished than big brother at the same stage. Bosa is also capable of sliding inside in pass rushing situations. If he's healthy, he'll play.
