Reese not lacking confidence

Class of 2018 safety Otis Reese is not short on confidence and college programs are taking notice with five offers already out there for the Lee County HS star. Are the Buckeyes taking notice?

LEESBURG, Ga. – Could a pipeline be developing from Lee County high school to Columbus (Ohio)? It may be a little premature to get to that point but with Stephen Collier already in the program for several years and the Buckeyes heavily involved with Aubrey Solomon, making a move on 2018 safety Otis Reese seems like a natural progression.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder already looks like he may grow into a linebacker but feels that he has what it takes to be a safety at the next level. He describes his own game as being a big safety with corner skills that can still come up and stick it to offensive players.

"I am a physical safety that loves contact," Reese said. "That is what we do down here in South Georgia."

Reese's brother, Da'Quaun Jamison, is enrolled at Central Michigan. Reese picked up some valuable advice from his brother about how to approach recruiting and the tiring process.

"Go with your heart and go with what feels right," Reese said. "Do it for you because you are the one who has to go there and play."

Reese is now up to five offers, all from various parts of the country with CMU, Troy, Louisville, UCLA and Michigan all on board with offers. This is just going to be the tip of the iceberg for Reese however and he knows that he has to keep a good head about him as more schools come on board.

"It makes me want to grind more and lead my team," Reese said.

The Buckeyes have not offered yet but Reese is starting to see the process pick up. When asked about Ohio State, the talented safety lit up.

"That's the Buckeyes, what is there not to know," Reese said. "You have a great football team, you put players in the draft, and you are all consistent. You are going to win. You are going to bring in the best and you are going to compete."

Reese feels that Ohio State could get on board soon but at this point he can only control what he can control and that means putting in hard work and making it impossible for the Buckeyes not to offer.

Time will tell.
