COLUMBUS, Ohio – All eyes were on the quarterback position over the spring and now that spring practice is over at Ohio State, the evaluation period truly begins as the coaching staff breaks down hours and hours of tape at the position.

J.T. Barrett will enter the 2017 season as the starting quarterback, there was never any question about that. The question around Barrett is will he regain the form of his RS-Freshman season where he burst on to the scene and rewrote the Ohio State record book.

Kevin Wilson and Ryan Day will go a long way in working with the Ohio State offense and the quarterbacks and get the Buckeyes back on track, starting with Barrett.

"I think this is the best spring that I have had in terms of accuracy and being able to get our offense in the best plays," Barrett said on Saturday after the spring game. "Make sure that I keep on enhancing that. Just the little details in pass plays, red zone, being able to get on the same page with (the) guys."

The Buckeyes lost a lot of production in the pass catching game with the loss of Curtis Samuel, Noah Brown, Dontre Wilson and Corey Smith. New, yet familiar, names like Parris Campbell, Binjimen Victor, KJ Hill and others will have to take that next step in 2017.

Regardless of how 2017 goes, everyone knows that this will be Barrett's final season in Columbus. That means the position will be wide open in 2018 and the Buckeyes have a talented trio behind Barrett all looking to work their way up the depth chart and stake a claim on the spot next season.
