OSU Avenges Loss To Nebraska With Big Win
Behind season-high outings from a trio of players, the 10th-ranked Ohio State women's basketball team blasted visiting Nebraska 86-61 before a season-high turnout of 3,344 fans in Columbus.
OSU was paced by Jessica Davenport's 26 points and nine rebounds and also got season-best totals from Caity Matter (25) and Brandie Hoskins (15).

The Buckeyes led 36-19 at intermission and seemingly had the game in hand, but Nebraska (6-3) began a run that was spurred by tough guard Keisha Hardy. She led all Huskers with 20 points, 15 coming in the second half and helped Nebraska close a double-digit deficit to 63-54 with just over seven minutes remaining.
The lead hovered right around 10 points until Matter connected on a trey from the left corner as the shot clock was running down. The Buckeyes led 72-57 at that point and cruised the rest of the way.
The first half was sloppy, but played into Nebraska's hands as the tempo was slowed. Ohio State led just 18-13 before going on an 18-6 burst to end the half. OSU turned up the pressure defensively and forced Nebraska into some bad decisions, and scored 8 points off turnovers during the closing stretch.
The Buckeyes scored 48 points in the paint and did a nice job hanging on to the basketball, turning it over just 12 times.
OSU goes on the road to take on the University of Pennsylvania Monday at noon.
