COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State has one of the more traditional uniforms in the entire NCAA, but the Buckeyes will be trotting out a new look when taking on Penn State on Saturday.
A quick glimpse of the uniforms was revealed on October 9, detailing a gray jersey with black lettering and numbering. The pattern in the numbers was speculated to be something along the lines of tiger stripes or buckeye tree bark at first, but was later said to be resembling wolf's fur in reference to the team's "Land of the Wolves" mentality from 2016, per Eleven Warriors.
Now, the full look has been revealed by the university. The entire ensemble pairs a gray jersey with the same colored pants, a black helmet similar to the 2015 alternative helmet worn against Penn State and scarlet cleats.
The difference between the helmets lies in the background color, as the same texture and design within the numbers will also serve as the background of the helmets. The buckeye leaves featured on the helmet will also be scarlet as opposed to the standard green.
The jersey goes on sale October 23 for a retail price of $150, and will lack the "B1G" logo on the right shoulder. Ohio State will wear the uniforms on October 28 against Penn State.
