Ohio guard is one to watch

One of the top underclassmen at the Flyin' to the Hoop Invitational this past weekend was class of 2019 guard Amari Davis out of Trotwood-Madison. The Ohio guard put in a strong effort against a loaded Prolific Prep team before fouling out in the third quarter.

Davis is still waiting for his first offer but is hearing from plenty of High-Major programs.

"(Hearing from) Ohio State, Dayton, Xavier, Iowa, Cincinnati, and Wichita State," said Davis.

Davis last visited Ohio State when the football team played Bowling Green in September and says he is being recruited by assistant coach Chris Jent.

"Ohio State has a wonderful program, school and fan base," Davis explained. "If I would commit there, it would feel like home."

A strong sophomore season should lead to offers for Davis who is feeling good about where his game is at right now. Trotwood has one of the state's top teams this year and is a legitimate title contender.

"I think my overall game is good right now," he said. "Anything my coach or team need me to do, I will do it. I want to win state this year, but it will be one game at a time."
