No drama for Proctor who signs with Ohio State

What at one point looked like it might be one of Ohio State's more stressful recruitments, ended up being a nice, easy finish for the Buckeyes. Owasso (Okla.) star Josh Proctor inked with the Buckeyes on Wednesday over Oklahoma and did so with little drama.

The four-star prospect committed to Ohio State last spring, in a bit of a surprise move. Though he had visited Ohio State multiple times, the commitment caught many off guard, especially in his home state of Oklahoma. The Sooners never gave up on trying to flip the local star and even got him on campus in October for a visit.

FLASHBACK: Despite OU visit, Proctor solid with Ohio State

But Ohio State stuck with it and by the end, there wasn't much speculation on where Proctor would sign. Proctor's school is now on break, but Ohio State fans got the news they were hoping for a day early as the Rivals250 safety did a mock signing at his school on Tuesday so that he could celebrate with family and friends.

The official letter is now in for the Buckeyes who are landing a state champion and one of the nation's top defensive playmakers.
