Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas five-star defensive end and Ohio State commit Nick Bosa received some tough news today when he learned he'll miss the remainder of his senior season due to a knee injury he suffered Friday night.

According to his father, John Bosa, it's and ACL injury that will require surgery, which is likely to take place next week.

"He has a partial tear of the ACL that requires surgery. There's no other damage," the elder Bosa told BuckeyeGrove.com. "Full recovery is expected. Nick will be back better than ever."

The recovery timetable is not yet known, but more information will be available following next week's surgery.

Bosa, who committed to the Buckeyes in July, is the top rated commit in Ohio State's very strong 2016 recruiting class. He's a solid commitment and has stated that he will not take visits to any other schools as a result of the relationships he's built at OSU.

"The recruiting process, involves a lot of schools continuing to reach out and send mailings because there are a lot of kids who flip after they made a decision too early," John Bosa stated. "That's not how the Bosa family works though. Joey did all his visits and when he made his commitment, it was his commitment. Barring some sort of major change at a school, Nick is looking forward to finishing his high school career and heading up to Columbus.

"Nick is a Buckeye. I don't let the boys make an oral commitment, until they feel it in their heart. I don't think he's contacted on phone or social media as much anymore, but mail still comes. He called every coach to thank them for his recruitment, so they heard it from him and that was his decision. Nick is a Buckeye."
