New-look Ohio State offense uses familiar approach
COLUMBUS, Ohio- Coach Urban Meyer and the Ohio State offense pride themselves on being an equally balanced system. That was the focus against Army West Point, running for 270 yards and passing 316 yards against the Black Knights. With the balanced attack, Ohio State scored five touchdowns to beat Army West Point by 31 points.
The domination on the offensive side of the ball was due to a system that the Buckeye offense is used to running, the run/pass option.
When planning for the game against the Black Knights, offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson just tried to perfect an offensive scheme that was already being utilized.
“There was not a whole lot of change,” Wilson said. “It was just emphasis of things that were there.”
