Midwest lineman eager to visit Ohio State

Ohio State has been putting out quite a few offers to underclassmen prospects in recent weeks. One of the most intriguing class of 2020 prospects to receive an offer from the Buckeyes is Carmel (Ind.) defensive lineman Cole Brevard. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound prospect has a chance to be one of the most heavily recruited Midwest prospects in his class.

"I’m still in shock," Brevard told BuckeyeGrove.com in reaction to his Ohio State offer."I feel very blessed and honored to have received the offer from Ohio State."

Brevard was able to catch some of Ohio State's biggest games towards the end of the season, games where the Buckeye defense was at its best.

"I honestly did not see a lot of Ohio State games (during the season)," he continued. "But I did catch some of the Big 10 championship against Wisconsin and the bowl game against USC. What I saw was a dominant front seven that attacks and swarms to the ball, it is sort of like the defense we play here at Carmel."

A big part of the credit for that attacking front seven goes to Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson. Brevard has not yet had a chance to connect with the D-Line guru, but doing so is at the top of his priority list when it comes to learning more about the Buckeyes.

"I’m looking forward to actually getting to the campus for a visit," he explained. "My trainer, Daniel Muir, has a lot of positive things to say about Larry Johnson so I’m looking forward to meeting him especially."

Brevard also holds early offers from Indiana, Louisville, Penn State, and Purdue.
