Means is next at Cathedral

Few programs in the Midwest have churned out as much talent as Indianapolis (Ind.) Cathedral over the years and Ohio State is one college program that has been able to take advantage. When the Buckeyes open camp in August, there will be two former Cathedral stars on the roster. Recently Ohio State saw possibly the next Division I recruit at the school in class of 2020 safety Shiloh Means.

The 6-foot, 180-pound prospect camped with the Buckeyes and left a good impression on the coaching staff.

"I think I did pretty good in the drills and everything," said Means. "I kind of hurt my back so I didn't get to do 1-on-1's, but the drills went well. They want me to come back for Friday Night Lights."

Means isn't too familiar with the Ohio State program but he's learning more thanks to the connections he has with a pair of former Cathedral standouts.

"I want to get a tour of the campus at some point but I know that Pete Werner is coming here," Means explained. "Terry McLaurin is here too, I know them pretty well and they tell me about how good the school is."

One thing Means does know, is that Ohio State recruits the cream of the crop.

"I know that from watching Terry and Pete that they look for the best people at their positions," he said. "If you want to come here, you have to be the best."

Ball State and Indiana are also showing early interest in Means.
