Teague is commitment No. 13 for Ohio State in its 2018 class.

You could almost feel it coming in recent weeks, but it was made official on Sunday afternoon as Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Blackman running back Master Teague gave his verbal commitment to Ohio State.

"There were several things that caused me to (pick) OSU," Teague told BuckeyeGrove.com. "I really liked their culture. I liked what they do with Real Life Wednesdays. I like the internships I saw their guys go on. I like the Athletes in Action opportunities."

The life after football aspect has been a popular thing among recruits in recent years and it once again hit home with Teague.

"I like that Coach Meyer not only feels responsible for helping his guys get an education but also getting a job," Teague said.

The 5-foot-11, 210-pound prospect had recently narrowed his list down to three schools; Auburn, Georgia, and Tennessee, but camped this past week at Alabama and Ohio State, maintaining in recent weeks that he would give those schools a look if they offered.

The Buckeyes came through with the offer on Friday after a camp performance in which Teague ran a sub 4.4 40-yard dash in front of running backs coach Tony Alford and head coach Urban Meyer.

Teague had worked his way up the Ohio State recruiting board in recent months, with the camp simply validating that sentiment. After a strong junior campaign, Teague has continued to pack on good weight to his frame, which impressed the Ohio State staff the last time he was on campus in the spring.

Since that time, the relationship between Teague, his family, and the Ohio State coaches continued to grow with running backs coach Tony Alford making multiple stops at Blackman High School during the Spring Evaluation Period.

As the two parties continued the relationship building process, it become more and more apparent that Teague was going to be an excellent culture fit in Columbus.

"I like that we will be able to win a national championship," he said. "I am a very motivated person but the coaches at OSU added more motivation in me. That was unique."

BuckeyeGrove.com will have more on Teague's decision, including what implications this commitment may have on the 2018 class and beyond.
