COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State career of Marcelys Jones is over a source confirmed to BuckeyeGrove.com on Thursday afternoon. The former Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville high school product will seek a transfer and is leaving the Ohio State football team immediately.

It was a mutual decision on both Ohio State and Jones' side according to our source and the split was called "amicable".

Jones was a four-star recruit as part of the class of 2014 and was one of three Tarblooders to sign with Ohio State along with Marshon Lattimore and Erick Smith. Jones was the first commit for the class of 2014, making his pledge on Christmas Day as the Buckeyes held off a late push from Kentucky to secure Jones' signature.

Jones saw limited action in 2014 in a reserve role and figured to be depth on the line but would not push for a starting position with four returners coming back from the 2014 National Championship team.

Update (5:45pm): An Ohio State spokesperson confirmed via email that Marcelys Jones has indeed left the program.
