Local receiver checks out bowl practice

The Pickerington (Ohio) North program is loaded with talent right now and one of the program's best prospects is class of 2020 wide receiver Chris Scott. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound prospect was a major contributor for North's regional runner-up team this past fall and is generating a lot of recruiting interest, including Ohio State.

Scott took in bowl practice with the Buckeyes on Saturday morning.

"Ohio State was great," said Scott of his visit. "The facility was very nice and everybody from the coaches to just the people who welcomed me were very nice. Talking with the coaches was great and I liked the practice."

Scott moved from the Dayton area to Pickerington before his sophomore season, he was previously at Huber Heights Wayne High School, where a current Buckeye starred not too long ago.

"I saw and got a chance to talk to a friend of mine from my old high school, Robert Landers," Scott explained. "He told me what it was like there. Even though this was more of a lighter practice than usual he said, I still liked the intensity of the practice and how it went. Overall it was very good. I really enjoyed myself."

The athletic pass-catcher was also able to speak with multiple members of the Ohio State coaching staff.

"Just to keep working and they really liked me," he recalled. "The coaches that did get to watch my last game in the playoffs against Pickerington Central said they were very impressed and I did very good. Basically just football stuff and what they’ve heard about me and how they’ve been watching my film and they’ve liked what they have seen so far. They said they want to get me up there more often too."

Scott is expected to be one of Ohio's top prospects in the 2020 class.
