Jake Wray set to follow his own process

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Buckeyes already have one Wray in the fold but are going to have to wait a little while to potentially land another. With Max Wray already committed for the class of 2018 people will look to 2020 and younger brother Jake Wray.

The younger Wray is already checking in at 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds and college have taken notice. Jake holds more than a dozen offers with three high school seasons left to be played. Those offers include schools like Ohio State, Alabama, LSU, Miami, Tennessee and Memphis.

Right now is just a feeling out process for Jake as he gets to know schools as much as he can under the rules of the NCAA and limited contact for recruits three years out. It is a very business-like approach for the rising sophomore however as he understands the relationship business that recruiting is.

"I think that recruiting is a great opportunity to get to know people," Wray said. If you know people then you can get a lot more done. It is just a great opportunity to get exposure and I just have this opportunity and I want to use it to the best of my ability."

It goes without saying that his older brother is already in his ear about Ohio State. At the end of the day, Jake is going to come to his own decision and already has a valuable advocate in his corner with his older brother still going through the process as teams try and move him off of Ohio State.

"I always come to him for advice when I need it," Wray said. "But this is my own recruiting process so I am going to have my own thought process. I am going to go through it a different way. He does help me out a lot."

The younger Wray will get a chance, much like Nick Bosa did with Joey, to see Ohio State on multiple occasions with Max already in the fold (Max still has to sign his LOI in the coming months). What has Jake already seen from the Buckeyes during the opening moments of his recruitment?

"Ohio State is a great school. It is in a great area," Wray said. "Historically it has been an incredible school with a bunch of great coaches and a bunch of great players. They produce very good offensive linemen, including Orlando Pace who is incredible. It is a very good school."

LSU and Memphis are two other schools that are standing out early for Jake as well. Memphis has had success in the past with athletes from Franklin high school and LSU has made Jake a priority recruit on its board.

Interest in Wray will only continue to grow, whether schools believe he is Ohio State bound or not. A look at his tape will show a self-described 'nasty' lineman on the field. How does the younger Wray describe the terms that seems to go hand-in-hand with successful offensive linemen?

"You are going to get it done, no matter what," Wray said. "Pancakes are pancakes, but if you are willing to get in a dude's face and tell him that you are going to beat him straight up, right now, and you go beat him straight up right now, then you are nasty."
