COLUMBUS, Ohio –– After a spring camp that was cut short in 2020, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day and the Buckeyes are content just to be having one at all this year. However, the return to normalcy has made possible a rash of injuries that the team may have largely avoided at this point a season ago due to the relative inactivity.
Some of the setbacks plaguing the Buckeyes may have been lingering issues from the end of the 2020 schedule, as further details are not offered up by the program with regularity. But several others, such as the “long-term” injury to redshirt freshman linebacker Mitchell Melton that Day confirmed on Monday, seem to have been more recent.
