ARLINGTON, Texas - It was not a perfect game but it was enough to get the Buckeyes to 3-0 and through Urban Meyer's three-game suspension. The Buckeyes spotted the Horned Frogs of TCU a lead, by as many as eight points at one point but the Ohio State defense put up 14 points and Ohio State used a third quarter explosion to erase the deficit and go on to a 40-28 win in a battle of top-25 teams.

The win could be costly as Nick Bosa was forced to leave the game with an unknown lower body injury that has not been disclosed in terms of nature, severity and any sort of length of absence. But there will be time to talk about that later. We are wrapping up our TCU coverage with our latest Hot 11 list.

Special mention to players like Shaun Wade, Tuf Borland and a good portion of the receivers room who all received heavy consideration, but it is tough to get this list down to 11 and too early in the season to start listing ties.

New to BuckeyeGrove or just unfamiliar with the Hot 11? What exactly is it? This is a feature that we run weekly and there is always movement on this list after each game is played. What we don't do is over-correct from game-to-game. If a player comes out of nowhere to have a big game, he won't move up to the top-four of the list and conversely, one bad game won't drop a player off the list entirely if he was ranked highly just a week before.

How did week one performances change our list? Take a look below and be sure to vote each week over in The Horseshoe Lounge to have your voice heard.

RankWhoWhy

1.

Nick Bosa

Bosa was well on his way to having another tremendous game as he forced a fumble that led to Ohio State's first touchdown (Davon Hamilton fell on the ball for the score) to go along with being credited for a sack. But an injury knocked him out of the game and there are plenty of nerves around Columbus as his status is unknown at this point. Last Week: 1

2.

Dre'mont Jones

Jones is making himself a lot of money in the future with the upcoming NFL Draft the way that he has been playing. He had a pick-six for Ohio State's second defensive touchdown of the game as well as a sack two TFLs and a PBU from his interior defensive line position. Last Week: 3

3.

Dwayne Haskins

Haskins ended up with very good numbers but what would they have been if there were not the numerous drops that stalled the Ohio State offense. Haskins went 24-38 for 344 yards and two passing touchdowns along with a rushing TD when the Buckeyes needed to add some breathing room. Last Week: 2

4.

Jordan Fuller

Ohio State's secondary has been maligned at parts of this season but there is not much to find fault with the way that Fuller has been playing so far. He led the team in tackles (eight) and had a PBU and was credited with half of a TFL in the Ohio State win. Last Week: 7

5.

JK Dobbins

Welcome home JK, 18 carries for 121 yards and while he was kept out of the end zone, he had several key runs to prolong drives and keep the Buckeyes in tempo offense. After a slow week one, Dobbins is starting to find his stride and the jump-cut is back. Last Week: 6

6.

KJ Hill

Hill led the Buckeyes with six catches and 95 yards and a touchdown. He remains one of Ohio State's most consistent performers this season and can do a little bit of everything. Last Week: 9

7.

Mike Weber

There were some concerns early in the game when the Buckeyes appeared to be giving Master Teague the second-team reps in warm-ups but Weber lined up at RB in the first quarter and had 18 carries for 64 yards. He has not looked the same as week one but make no mistake, he is still playing very well. Last Week: 5

8.

Isaiah Prince

The Ohio State line only allowed one sack while the team ran for 182 yards but they were hard-fought with an average carry of 4.3 yards. Prince played well and looks nothing like the player who struggled mightily just a couple of seasons ago. Last Week: NR

9.

Robert Landers

BB Landers makes his way onto the ranking list after many members blasted us for not having him on previous weeks. He has been a force in the middle and creates a match-up issue when he lines up next to Dre'mont Jones. For one of the shorter players on the line, his ceiling is very high. Last Week: NR

10.

Chase Young

It was not a strong game for Young and he falls in the rankings as he did not record any stats and just had one of his less memorable games in an Ohio State uniform. Last Week: 4

11.

Michael Jordan

Jordan had a good game in terms of protection but it appeared that most of his snaps were low and this week they Buckeyes will look to examine why and how to correct that. Tulane will not pose the challenge that TCU did but with Penn State waiting in the wings, things need to be corrected quickly. Last Week: 8
