COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Relationships among Buckeyes are as tight-knit as one can imagine.

Ohio State men’s basketball head coach Chris Holtmann expressed support for the football team on Tuesday after last Saturday’s game at Illinois was canceled due to positive COVID-19 tests among the 170 “tier-one” personnel.

Holtmann said he’s texted with Ryan Day and thought a lot about the football program.

“Where I really have tremendous empathy, I look at his situation and know how much he cares for his kids and how much he knows that his kids desperately want to play games,” Holtmann said. “That weighs on you as a head coach.”
