Harris picks the Buckeyes in advance of his visit

It has been a long journey but Jaylen Harris is finally a member of the Ohio State recruiting class after committing to the Buckeyes on Friday morning. The 6-foot-5, 205-pounder had a final group of schools that included Alabama, Michigan State, Penn State, Tennessee and the Buckeyes before he made his pledge known.

"I had to follow my heart and make the best decision for myself," Harris told BuckeyeGrove.com.

Harris is set to make an official visit to Ohio State next weekend but he will be doing it as a committed prospect.

The Cleveland Heights (Ohio) star is ranked No. 192 in the nation by Rivals.com and is a top-10 player in the state of Ohio. There were concerns that Harris' methodical approach to his recruitment may end up costing him a spot in Ohio State's class, ultimately that did not matter as Harris joins five-star recruit Trevon Grimes as part of Ohio State's epic haul for the class of 2017.

The combo give the Buckeyes some much needed size in the receiver room with Harris checking in a 6-5 and Grimes measuring up at 6-4. It has been some time since the Buckeyes have had a lot of height in the receiver corps and any school would be envious to bring in two highly-regarded receivers like this tandem.

Ohio State has also moved recent early enrollee Brendon White over to the offensive size of the ball as well to give the Buckeyes a third option in this class. White is a four-star athlete out of Powell (Ohio) and the son of former Ohio State star and NFL mainstay, William White.

We will have more on Ohio State's new addition including what impact this has on the team and Ohio State's recruiting board with National Signing Day less than three weeks away.
