Grimes commits to Ohio State

Ohio State got a double dip of star power on Monday morning, landing five-star wide receiver Trevon Grimes in tandem with Rivals100 wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey as the two made a joint announcement.

"Simply just because of the atmosphere and the coaches," Grimes told BuckeyeGrove.com of his decision to choose the Buckeyes. "The closeness to home (Indianapolis). Everything about Ohio State just fits right into my agenda."

The move to Columbus will be a homecoming for Grimes who grew up in Indianapolis. While he has spent the last several years in South Florida, he still considers the Midwest home and is eager to get back to his roots.

"Being closer to home, closer to family is big," he continued. "Being closer to my friends that I left at a young age. It was a hard time leaving all my family, so being able to go back up there and be close to home is a big thing."

The relationship factor was also big for Grimes in this one. Ohio State receivers coach Zach Smith cultivated a strong relationship with the five-star prospect over the past three years.

"Our relationship is amazing," Grimes said. "We text every day and our relationship is building day-by-day."

Grimes is the No. 1 rated wide receiver in the nation by Rivals.com. Stay tuned to BuckeyeGrove.com for more on the pledges of Grimes and Lindsey.
