Gill is in no rush to make any decisions

Jaelen Gill is going to enjoy his recruiting process, even if many of his friends continue to tell him why Ohio State is the place to be. We caught up with Gill on Saturday morning at the RCS: Columbus stop to talk about the event and of course recruiting.

OBETZ, Ohio – Class of 2018 athlete Jaelen Gill made the short trip around I-270 on Saturday morning to take part in the Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour and brave the cold and windy conditions to show why he is a top player in his class and a player worthy of the laundry list of offers that he currently holds.

"If I do show out, in these kinds of conditions, it will definitely open more people's eyes and that is what I am trying to do," Gill said.

Gill already holds offers from most of the Big Ten and schools from coast-to-coast and more offers keeping rolling in for the 6-foot, 170-pounder. His goal on Saturday however was to earn a ticket to the Rivals Challenge, the final event and crown jewel of the Rivals Camps Series.

"Big goal. I really want to get there," Gill said. "Especially since Marcus Williamson made it there, I am trying to meet him there. It is a big goal."

Despite still being a young guy in terms of recruiting, Gill is a savvy veteran of the recruiting game and is not one to tip his hand. He claims to have no favorites and has done a good job of getting out and visiting schools and recently made his way to the west coast to check out USC and UCLA.

The fact that he does not call Ohio State his favorite, or any school for that matter, has some Ohio State fans on edge but there should be no concern that the Buckeyes are not working hard to land him and that Gill is not feeling the love from Urban Meyer and his coaching staff.

"They are definitely a school that I really like," Gill said. "There is nothing that I don't like about Ohio State. I definitely like them."

It does not hurt when one of Gill's best friends happens to be an Ohio State commitment and a strong recruiter for the cause.

"I can say that Brendon (White) is one of my best friends now," Gill said. "We hang out almost every weekend. I say every time that we hang out, he mentions (Ohio State) a couple of times. He definitely is trying to recruit me for Ohio State for the coaches, it is pretty funny."

White has learned the art of ambushing Gill when it comes to visiting Ohio State, though it does not seem like Gill puts up much protest on his part.

"Sometimes I will be at his house and he will be like, 'We are going to Ohio State practice' and I am like 'Dude, you have to tell me that ahead of time', but it is cool though. It is nice being friends with him," Gill joked and said with a smile.

Check out what else Gill had to say about his recruitment and more in this exclusive video from the RCS: Columbus stop.
