Drennen continues to pick up interest

After an impressive freshman season as a varsity starter at Central Ohio power Dublin (Ohio) Coffman, class of 2020 athlete Mike Drennen continues to pick up interest. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound running back/receiver was among the top prospects on hand this past Friday at the SDU showcase in Hilliard (Ohio) as he continues to hear from Power Five programs from around the nation.

"I've been (communicating with) North Carolina, Rutgers, Auburn, and Michigan State," said Drennen.

Drennen's primary focus has been on training for college camps in June and on preparing for his season in the fall, but he did recently visit one of the Big Ten's top programs.

"I just went to Michigan State, I have mostly been working on my training though," said Drennen. "I'd like to take a trip to Auburn, probably later in the summer."

Drennen enjoyed his time in East Lansing and the Spartans should be in line for several return visits as his recruiting process unfolds.

"Michigan State was great," he said. "I loved it. I think I'm going to take some more trips there. I got to watch practice and that was amazing."

This summer could be a busy one for the versatile playmaker. The college camp schedule hasn't been finalized but he has a few places in mind.

"I'm going to take a trip down south, probably to Tennessee, and I'm going to go to Ohio State for sure," he said. "After that, I'm not sure."
