COLUMBUS, Ohio –– Official team-released depth charts may be a thing of the past at Ohio State, but on Monday, head coach Ryan Day provided an off-the-cuff rundown of the state of affairs at one position in particular.
With third-year offensive lineman and potential leading candidate for the starting center job Harry Miller out of spring camp with an injury, Day rattled off the three-man rotation that has seen the bulk of the reps in the middle of the line so far this spring.
“Repping right now at center right now is Matt Jones, Luke Wypler and Jakob James, but when Harry gets back he can move into center,” Day said. “We’ve had some other guys taking snaps along the way that can do it as well. We’ll look for the best five guys and then we’ll try to make it work from there.”
