COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State likely found its go-to offensive weapon for this season during its 77-10 romp of Bowling Green on Saturday. His name is Curtis Samuel.
“He’s a tremendous talent,” said head coach Urban Meyer. “It was great to see him have some success.”
“Some success” might be underselling the show that the 5-foot-11 junior put on for the 107,193 fans in attendance at Ohio Stadium on a picture-perfect September afternoon.
Samuel was electrifying both in the ground game and through the air, carving up the Falcon defense for 261 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns. His routes were crisp, his cuts deft.
After the Buckeyes’ lost all of their key skill-position players besides redshirt junior quarterback J.T. Barrett, Samuel’s performance was assuring. To be sure, he wasn’t the only bright spot.

Redshirt freshman tailback Mike Weber was impressive, as were receivers Noah Brown and K.J. Hill, both of whom scored touchdowns.
