Crenshaw one to watch in 2020

The Pickerington (Ohio) Central program is as loaded with talent as any high school program in the state of Ohio right now. The Tigers have talented prospects spread throughout the roster all the way down to the 2020 class, which will feature starting quarterback Demeatric Crenshaw.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect recently camped at Ohio State and was pulled into the indoor facility with the elite group.

"I thought I threw pretty well," said Crenshaw of his performance. "Coach Day said I did a good job and to just keep working."

Growing up in the Columbus area, Crenshaw is all too familiar with the Ohio State program.

"That would be a big offer," he said. "To have a chance to get that would be big. I love that school."

Crenshaw, who was offered early by Kentucky, got a taste of varsity action last fall, serving as the team's back-up quarterback as a freshman. This year the reins will be handed over to him on a team that is expected to make a deep playoff run. While Kentucky is the first to offer, the Wildcats aren't the only program showing interest.

"Michigan State, Pitt, Ohio U., there's a couple of other schools (showing interest)," he said.

At last Saturday's Ohio State camp, Crenshaw showed off a strong arm and good touch. His strength and athleticism also make him a dangerous runner. But like all young quarterbacks, he has some things to work on and most of that revolves around mechanics.

"The main thing I'm working on right now is the technique on my passing," he added.
