COLUMBUS, Ohio –– Jonathon Cooper’s primary objective on the football field for the past five years at Ohio State has centered around a single pursuit: sacking the quarterback.
Now that the former Buckeye defensive end is preparing for the next level, NFL teams are looking to imbue Cooper with a different set of responsibilities, a list that comes with playing a brand new position along the front seven.
“Obviously I’ve been playing defensive end throughout my whole entire college career, but with all the teams I’ve been talking to, they kind of see me as an outside linebacker, Sam type of position, which is my body type,” Cooper said Tuesday at Ohio State’s Pro Day.
