Chrisman goes with Ohio State

Spots continue to fill up in Ohio State's 2016 recruiting class with the latest coming from Cincinnati (Ohio) La Salle punter Drue Chrisman. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound chose the Buckeyes on Tuesday afternoon over finalists BYU and Florida State to become commitment No. 14 for Ohio State. Chrisman also entertained offers from Kentucky, Indiana, and UCLA before making his choice.

"Thank you to all the colleges that took a chance and offered me," said Chrisman in a statement he released. "Unfortunately there could only be one and the school I will be furthering my academic and athletic career at is The Ohio State University."
The Buckeyes remain No. 3 in the Rivals.com team recruiting rankings for the 2016 class, trailing only Miami and Florida State at this point. Chrisman is rated the No. 1 punter nationally in the 2016 class by Kohl's Kicking who trains punters and kickers and runs camps across the nation.
Current Ohio State punter Cameron Johnston will be a junior this fall but is a candidate for possible early entry into the NFL draft after this season. Chrisman could either redshirt behind Johnston for a year and then have four years to play or could be relied on from day one if Johnston decides to forego his senior season.
