Ohio State added commitment No. 24 to its 2018 recruiting class on Sunday night, landing San Marcos (Cali.) Mission Hills wide receiver Chris Olave. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect chose the Buckeyes over a trio of other finalists in USC, Utah, and UCLA.

"Ohio State felt like home when I was out there," said Olave of his decision to give the Buckeyes his pledge. "Feels like the best opportunity I can give myself. I loved Ohio State ever since my visit. The coaches have been recruiting me hard consistently since they offered me. They really wanted me. They were even calling my brothers and my parents these past couple weeks."

Ohio State got involved late with Olave but turned up the heat this past fall as the three-star prospect was in the midst of a very impressive senior season. A November official visit gave the Buckeyes some momentum in this recruitment after a big 48-3 win over Michigan State.

"I just love the vibe that I got up there," Olave recently told BuckeyeGrove.com about his affinity for Ohio State. "Just all of the coaches reaching out to me and talking to me. I definitely feel wanted and feel comfortable with the school."

But with the commitments of St. Louis area standouts Kamryn Babb and Cameron Brown, it was unclear if the Buckeyes would have room for another wide receiver in the class. When all of the draft eligible receivers decided to return to school, it added further doubt to the situation.

However Ohio State stuck with Olave and everything was cleared up on a recent in-home visit with offensive assistants Ryan Day and Zach Smith reiterating that he was still a priority.
