Buckeyes put out new offer in Tennessee

Ohio State continues to be aggressive in the state of Tennessee and after recently breaking through with a commitment in the 2018 class, the Buckeyes have offered one of the state's top class of 2019 prospects in Nashville Franklin Road Academy product Lance Wilhoite.

The 6-foot-2, 165-pound wide receiver is an early member of the initial Rivals100 for the class of 2019 and he was excited about the offer from the Buckeyes.

"It was mind blowing to get an offer from OSU," Wilhoite told BuckeyeGrove.com. They are a dominant team and you can never count them out when you're talking about championships."

Ohio State running backs coach Tony Alford handles a lot of the recruiting in the state of Tennessee and stopped by the school to deliver the news. Due to NCAA rules, the two weren't allowed to speak, but Alford made sure to inform the coaches that the Buckeyes were offering a scholarship.

"Coach Alford came by the school and offered," he said. "I didn't really get a chance to talk to him."

Wilhoite says he intends to make a visit to Columbus at some point and he has a family member that will be more than happy to accompany him on the trip. A visit is possible over the summer.

"It's also exciting to know that I can take my brother there with me when I visit," he explained. "He is a huge OSU fan and I know it would make him happy to see (Ohio State) and all its facilities."

Some of Wilhoite's other early offers include; Louisville, LSU, North Carolina State, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. Ohio State was his 11th offer of the process.
