A potentially huge recruiting weekend has started with a bang for Ohio State as class of 2016 Cincinnati (OH) Moeller tight end Jake Hausmann announced his pledge for the Buckeyes early on Sunday afternoon. The 6-foot-4, 228-pound prospect is the nation's top ranked tight end prospect in his class.

I'm excited to announce that I have officially committed to The Ohio State University to further my academic and athletic career #GoBucks- Jake Hausmann (@Jake_Hausmann) January 25, 2015

Hausmann racked up twenty offers during the recruiting process from schools such as Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State, and Penn State, but was considered an Ohio State/Notre Dame battle for most of the process. At the end of the day it was the environment in Columbus that made Hausmann most comfortable.
"Ultimately it was the people," Hausmann told BuckeyeGrove.com. "Everyone on that team has welcomed me from day one and I can't wait to be a part of it."
Hausmann is the sixth commitment in Ohio State's 2016 recruiting class, all of which are rated four-stars or higher by Rivals.com. Hausmann is rated the No. 2 prospect in Ohio for the 2016 class and the No. 39 overall player in the nation.
Stay tuned to BuckeyeGrove.com throughout the day for more on Hausmann's commitment as well as coverage of the huge on-going recruiting weekend in Columbus.
